Rotterdam, Netherlands Awarded 2026 World Gymnastics Championships
Athletes Will Compete for Gold for the 3rd Time in Rotterdam

The 2026 World Gymnastics Championships were awarded to Rotterdam, Netherlands. 2012 Olympic Champion, Epke Zonderland will serve as tournament director for the city's third time hosting the World Gymnastics Championships.
Zonderland stated:
“It is an absolute honour to be involved as Tournament Director at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in our own country. At Rotterdam Ahoy, we will put on a spectacular event that will inspire the gymnastics world. I sincerely hope that our Dutch gymnasts take this World Championship as an opportunity to elevate their careers to a higher level, and that some of the veterans among them end their careers here in a brilliant way — hopefully with a medal as the crowning glory!”
The last time the city served as host for the Championships, the world had not yet heard of Simone Biles. Instead, the competition was the breakout for Russian star Aliya Mustafina and legend, Kohei Uchimura had just secured his second of six World all-around titles.
