Kensley will be going live following the meet (approximately 9:30 pm local time)

Japan leads day 1 of qualifications with a 253.829; Great Britain is 2nd with a 251. 460; and WG2 is 3rd with a 249.162; USA is 4th with a 245.961.

Rotation 6

The U.S. are in a big whole currently to the top teams. Over 5 points back from GBR.

Shane Wiskus looks like he tried to out do Harry Hepworth on the still rings dismount. Nearly ran off the podium.

Daiki Hashimoto 's double pike dismount is sublime.

Oka starts with a stuck mount!

Joe Frase (GBR HB) Cassina was littttllleee low! Looks like he got a bit tired at the end and the form was a little loose on the dismount but overall a hit.

Shane's score took over 6 minutes to come in. That is unacceptable. I'm pretty sure they were reviewing the maltese positions. But it took so long that they brough Fred his heating pad.... like....

Rotation 5

Shane starts USA off with a fall on pommel horse.

Danila Leykin (USA PH) Off on pommel horse. Does not repeat the skill. Falls on the magyar. Doesn't repeat.

Oka Shinnosuke (JPN HB) beautiful routine with a hop,

Illia Kovtun (CRO - VT) Kas 1.5 with a small hop

Fred Richard (USA - PH) Hit for Fred. They needed that.

Patty Hoopes (USA - PH) cleanly through the main routine, has to push a little into the dismount. Should get full credit with deduction.

MARAS!!!!!! So cool, Cassinal to Kolman!!! I can't believe I'm watching this live! Tak ful is REALLY late, tak 1/2 to def. NOOO falls on the def.

Rotation 4

Shane Wiskus (USA - FX) almost slides on the first landing but seems to settl ein on floor, really really low on the 5th pass (double double I think), good double pike to finish.

The British are headed to vault and the Japanese to parallel bars.

Looks like Courtney Tulloch's hand touched on his Dragulescu. Not 100% positive, but looked that way from our ange.

Danila Leykin (USA - FX) STUCK full-in layout, squeeezzeesss thoses toes to stay in ont he combo pass, his flairs are so beautiful, Stuck back 2.5 to front lay, probably little lide on the triple full, Gorgeous scale, double pike to end.

Harry Hepworth (GBR VT) HUGE Ri Se Gwang 2 (piked Dragulescu) - looks like they downgraded it to tucked. IDK that it looked that tucked to me but I'll go back and watch.

  • Handspring Randi for second vault. No triple today.

Fred Richard (USA FX) Stuck the first combo pass maybe stuck the full-in double lay. Had this super moment mid way through but stuck the dismount. He got a -0.3 ND for a repeated stag jump.

Kam Nelson (USA- FX) SUPER short on the triple pike, good on the triple tuck, fights for the stick on the comb side pass, super super short on the dismount too.

Jake Jarman (GBR - VT) Good Yonekura. Some of the best chest position I've EVER seen from him on the dragulescu).

Illia Kovtun (CRO - SR) Shoulders possibly a little high on the maltese and legs a little low on the planche, Kovtun is realllyyy making those rings swing. the ring tower does not look particularly stable tbh.

I'm going to be honest, I could not see parallel bars AT ALL from my seat but based on scores they NAILED it.

Rotation 3

After 3:

Japan - 125.830 (PH/SR/VT)

Great Britain - 125.630 (FX/PH/SR)

USA - 123.897 (VT/ PB/HB)

AUS - 119.131 (PB/HB/FX)

Kawakami Shohei NAILED his two vaults!

Redemtion from Danila Leykin on high bar. Good routine with a stuck dismount.

Joe Fraser was strong in his strength elements. A little arched in the handstands.

Oka Shinnosuke with a split leg on the table for the Kas double. Probably four tenths in landing errors.

Fred Richard (HB) Good Liukin, Good Cassina, Good Kolman, Good Tkatchev and 1 arm giant. STUCK dismount. Redemption for him as well.

Daiki Hashimoto (VT) Some leg separation on the Kas double with a step back. He has trained a Kas 2.5 this year but has opted for the safer vault.

Harry Hepworth (SR) Missed most of the routine but he ran backwards a LOT out of the triple back.

  • Second vault was a handspring Randi. No triple full today.

LOL Kam Nelson getting up and scratching high bar. He looked like he was eating that moment up.

Courtney Tulloch WOWOWOWOWOW! Looked SO strong today on rings and stuck his triple back.

Fred Richard (USA FX) Stuck opening combo pass, maybe stuck maybe slid the full-in double lay, he had this really awkward fall but stuck the dismount.

Rotation 2

After 2:

GBR: 83.798 (FX/PH)

JPN: 83.231 (PH/SR)

USA: 82.464 (VT/PB)

AUS: 79.898 (PB/HB)

Interesting that the British have changed their rotation order on pommel horse from podium training. Their big hitter, Reuben is going second rather than last. Reuben hit his routine. 14.466

Jake Jarman (PH) 14.033

Oka Shinnosuke stuck his rings dismount and Shane Wiskus stuck his parallel bars dismount.

Hashimoto's strength positions have gotten much better over the years. Small hop on the dismount and he kinda shrugs to his coach coming off the podium.

Danila Leykin (USA) is off on parallel bars. Empty swing to mount, giant, giant diam, the rest of the routine is solid with a big big chest down and a hop on the landing.

Joe Fraser stays on pommel horse. 13.700 Was mostly watching Leykin on P Bars but it looked ok.

Great maltese positions from Shinnosuke, up into the planche, giant handstand is good, JOH to handstand, STUCK gold double double layout.

Fred Richard just pulled a Zou Jingyuan a la 2019 and sat his Tippelt. That's two falls for USA on pbars.

After a stunning vault rotation, the U.S. now have two falls on pbars. They are putting Kam Nelson up as a precaution. Original plan was to scratch him.

Kam Nelson (PB)Almost missis his hand on a giant but does well to reocver, VERY simple routine, but it's there as a precaution.

Rotation 1

USA (VT): 42.399

JAPAN (PH): 41.966

GBR (FX): 41.599

AUS (PB): 39.399

Joe Fraser (GBR - FX) Big step forward on the opening pass. Small shuffle on the dismount. 13.5

Kawakami Shohei (JPN - PH) Stays on but has some form issues/leg splits.

Shane Wiskus (USA - VT) Kas 1.5 stuck cold! What a start! - 14.233

Danila Leykin (USA - VT) Good Yurchenko 2.5 (Shewfelt). Small hop and off to one side.

Oka Shinnosuke (JPN - PH) Scissor to handstand (good), good Busnari and good dismount. 13.9

Fred Richard (USA - VT) HUGE HUGE I cannot reiterate how huge his Roche was. Almost landed locked-legged and took a huge hop.

Daiki Hashimoto (JPN - PH) Missed the first half to watch Kam on vault. The routine looked clean from the corder of my eye. 14.533

Kam Nelson (USA - VT) A little underrotated on the Randi. Big leg cross int he air. But lands well. 14.1

  • second vault was Dragulescu. New in competition! Really really well done! 14.2

  • currently in 6th with a lot of vaulters to go.

Harry STUCK double double layed out WOW! , big step forward out of the combo pass, side pass with a small hop, nice planch on the floor well-held, hop to the corner wiht a head up-for presentation, big bound out on the 4th? ppass. STUCK dismount 13.966

Jake Jarman (GBR - FX) Triple double layout, back 2.5 to double front small hop, OOB on the side 3.5, Cant believe he does a tucked triple double fourth, side triple full, double double with a -0.3 hop.
