The Floor Exercise Final at the 2024 Olympic Games has concluded and Carlos Edriel Yulo from the Philippines is the new Olympic Champion. 2020 Olympic Champion Artem Dolgopyat from Israel earned the silver medal. And finally, Jake Jarman from Great Britain won the bronze medal.

Carlos Yulo is the first gymnast to win an Olympic medal of any color for the Philippines. Additionally, his gold medal is the country’s second-ever gold in any sport. Dolgopyat earned his second Olympic medal in the event. And finally, Jake Jarman took home the first individual medal in artistic gymnastics for Great Britain at these games.

While the top three scores were separated by an extremely close margin, the podium came down to the balance of difficulty and execution promoted in the Code of Points. While Dolgopyat had a higher execution than the other two podium-finishers, Yulo and Jarman posted higher difficulty scores. And although Yulo and Jarman had the same difficulty score (6.6), Yulo beat him in execution.
