NCAA men's gymnastics recruiting as been notriously difficult to track over the years due to NCAA recruiting rules. However, social media is now making it easier than effort to get a peak into the nations top junior gymnasts vying for spots at one of the fifteen remaining NCAA men's gymnastics program.

Here are the recruiting visits from September 4 - 6.

Sooners Tap GymTek Pipeline

The Oklahoma Sooners brough in four recruits this past weekend led by Junior (17) All-Around Champion, London Norris. Norris' GymTek teammates Zaidan Kyte (2026 Dev Nationals Vault Champion) and Jay Watkins (2025 London Open pommel horse champion) also spent the weekend in Crimson and Cream at the Sooner's newly rennovated facility.

To round out their powerhouse visit group, Oklahoma also brought in Hunter Egan (Cypress Academy) the reigning 2026 U.S. Championships Junior Floor Exercise Champion. For over twenty years, Cypress Academy has produced major NCAA stars like Jonathan Horton and Asher Hong. While GymTek brough the majority to the OU visit, Cypress brought the legacy.

Wolverines Reel in Junior National Team Stars

The 2025 National Champions brought in the largest recruiting visit of the weekend with five athletes. The Wolverines have taken dedicted steps to ensure their legacy by bringing in high school juniors like Bo McCrea and Andres Aranda, wheras men's gymnastics recruiting has largely been dedicated to only bringing high school seniors on site. Both Aranda and McCrea were members of the 2026 DTB team that competed in Germany and won a silver medal for team USA.

Elijah Gutierrez, Jovan Jimeno, and Cole Fallbacher are elligble to start next year. Gutierrez has picked up a slew of medals over the years incluging a gold at the Grizzly Class in Canada and a gold on pommel horse at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. Jimeno won gold alongside Gutierrez in Canada and is the reigning Dev Program silver medalist on floor (JE L10 17). Fallbacher is a standout on parallel bars having finished no lower than second on the event at every major competition the last two years.

This past weekend, the University of Michigan athletic department also broke ground for the new men's gymnastics center which is expted to be a 29 million-dollar project to create a 30,000 squre foot training gym.

Illini Keep Legacy Talent Close to Home

The University of Illinois focused its recent recruiting efforts on keeping top-tier Midwest talent. The Illini hosted 2026 U.S. vault silver medalist Peyton Boerner who was also part of the gold medal winning team at the 2026 Grizzly Classic. Kenny Watkiss is a pommel horse superstar haivng won three titles in a row at the junior development level. Should he choose to join the Illini, he would be joining a long line of pommel horse stars like World Cup gold medalist, Brandon Dang and current head coach, Daniel Ribiero. The Illini also hosted Vandan Haake last week who is a multi-time U.S. Naitonal Championships qualifier.

However, the most notable storyline from Champaign is the visit of Louis Diab. Louis represents the next generation of a legendary Illinois gymnastics family. He is the younger brother of NCAA standouts Max, Alex, and Maddie Diab whose father was also an NCAA gymnast. Securing Louis would be a massive legacy win for the Illini program.

Nittany Lions and Midshipmen Host Key Recruits

Penn State and Navy are also making moves to bolster their rosters. Penn State hosted Zach Ippolito and Cooper Mohatt looking to add depth and consistency to their storied program. Ippolito has been a U.S. National finalist. Mohatt's best finish is 4th place on floor and vault at the junior Dev Program nationals and currently trains at EVO Gymnastics in Sarasota.

Meanwhile, Navy hosted 2026 U.S. National Qualifier Jackson Wilson ( also a 2028 recruit). Wilson is the son of Olympian Blaine Wilson who was Olympic Teammates with Navy head coach, Kip Simons. Wilson is the 2026 U.S. Jr. National Vault Champion and would be a huge get for the Midshipmen.
