Five-time U.S. national team member, Marvin Kimble, is set to return to his first competition five years after he announced his retirement from gymnastics. Kimble, a Pan American Champion, retired in May 2021 ahead of the Tokyo Olympic Games citing a "nagging wrist injury." He said, “I still feel like, personally, I have a lot left. I felt good in the gym, physically. I felt good mentally. The wrist just couldn’t do it.”
Kimble previously told WISN News that he didn't know where he would be without gymnastics and feels like the sport "saved his life." The 30-year-old is scheduled return to competition at the 2026 U.S. National Qualifer on June 27th at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
